EVENT: “Ricki and the Flash” film press visit

I love the diversity of NAILS BY METS bookings and last week I found myself visiting the Time Inc. offices in London to provide press with manicures to promote the brand new Meryl Streep film, “Ricki and the Flash”.

It’s a film about a rockstar mother Ricki Rendazzo (Meryl Streep) who decides to focus on her career and pursue her rock ‘n’ roll dreams in California.  A mum of 3, Ricki is brought back to reality when a call from her ex-husband reveals that her daughter is getting divorced.  Forced to return to Indiana and reconnect with her ex husband, troubled daughter, son that hates her and a younger son, Ricki hopes to find redemption in all the bad decisions she’s made in the past.  I particularly love the part in the film trailer where Ricki and her daughter bond over beauty treatments, and of course manicures and nails!

My press visit played heavily on the mother-daughter relationship in the film.  Below is a selection of the manicures I created, inspired by the film and using Nails Inc. nail polishes:

I love these polishes from Nails Inc. They’re part of the new Alice and Olivia collaboration and are perfect for the new season!  The gold nail tattoos (also from Nails Inc.) give the nails an edge and were quick and easy to apply – perfect for days like this where speedy treatments are much appreciated by the busy press!
